would a metal halide pendant (250 w) be enough for corals and anemones in a 37 gallon tank? it is only about 24 inches tall. thanks

IMO it will be plenty, what is the length of your tank?

30 inches long, its a bowfront

You may have to play with the height of the fixture to cover side to side but you should be good

hi,
Make sure you teat the pendant like it was a piece of jewelery. I have had to replace 6 mh 250 bulbs in mine due to salt corrosion of the terminals, improper fitting of the bulbs, and a poor repair of the pendant. All in all, I'd say avoid the Aquamedic Oceanlight 250.

Hi,
I dont think their bad units. I just dunked mine in the tank, and I didnt figure out what was causing the strange arcing and 'crreeaack' sound until 3 bulbs later. Then, I sent it into repair, and they do a good job at a very reasonable price, but the bulb fit too tight, and poof theirs another. I have two units, too, so its been a bear.
