I bought a metal halide light from aquatraders and the bulb is loose:(.How do I tighten the bulb.I know howto get to the buld but cannot tighten it up:(.Please help me!

I'm assuming your talking about the DE MH buld. Have you been able to get to the bulb? You say you know how to get to it but have you?

I don't own those units so can't really comment...what I can say is that when I made the switch to MH, I was clueless as to how they were suppose to sit. They were DE bulbs, so I lined them up with the notches and pushed down. (not very hard however)...thinking that was it. But my bulbs were loose, and wouldn't stay in the fixture. After trying to figure out why for about an hour, I realized that I was suppose to use quite a bit of force to make sure they really seated in the notches. I felt like an idiot, but that's my experience with loose DE bulbs. Maybe you are experiencing something similar.

Does it have the metal sprinig clips that hold the bulb in? If so, sporead the clips out a little farther and in doing so it will hold the bulb in place, just don't break it. I had the same problem and this worked for me, worth a try.

Got it going now.

WARNING DO NOT PLUG METAL HALIDES INTO POWER STRIP.THEY PULL TO MUCH ENERGY AND WILL TRY TO FIRE UP OVER AND OVER AGAIN BLOWING THE BULB.

I didnt look to see what mine was rated.I just pluged it in.I had a water garden to go install and was in a hurry.
