i got the 175w from gary it looks nice bosent seem as bright at the pcs were but i like it. any sugestions on a hood?

Try building a canopy, mount the PC's up inside it along with the halide. THe problem with only one halide on that tank is the center brace will shade the tank if you center mount the halide. You may want to look for another 175W and mount one over each half of the tank to eliminate the shade. I would definatley try to put the PC's on it as well.

What color bulb did Gary give you with it? Depending on that, you may want to switch the PC's to actinics.

its a 20k and 10k i dont have the halide over the brace i have it on 1 side right now i just made a temp box for it

the 20k isn't very bright the 10 k should be.
