Metal halides and acrylic

I have a 200 Gallon acrylic 3/4" thick tank.

The top is covered by a 3/4" top - with openings with 3/4" covers.

I have Metal Halide 400W radiums above the tank. The cover sections of the tank get pretty hot. Does anyone have information on how hot is too hot?

Thanks
Kevin

I've seen people recommend to put extra acrylic over the top (not guled). That way if the extra piece is damaged it doesn't compromise tank integrity.
