Metal Halides - Powerboard Suitability

Hi There,

Will be setting up my halides in coming days.

My tank will have 5 by 400w Halides lighting it.

I am planning on purchasing a profilux system in the next couple of weeks but before I finally decide to go down this route I have a question.

My question is:

How does the power board hold up to constant switching off and on of the metal halides? Is it suitable for this and Will I need to purchase more then one power board just for the haides?

Have used timers in the past for the halides but fund they usually on last a month max.

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers,
FP

For your MH setup, I would get dedicated Hi-Amp powerbars since they are made to handle the high rush that the MH ballasts send.

Hi Frank.

I will be using the same setup. 5 x 400w MH with a Profilux Digital Powerbar (rated at 2400w) I have been told by the distributor that this will be sufficient and will work (when explaining my requirements).

Cheers

Chris

As you are in Australia the power situation is different than in North America, so you are best to post the question on the GHL forum listed in my signature, you can then get an answer from GHL directly
