Metal Washer

Ok.... I have been savataged!! 4 weeks ago, I had surgery and was in the hospital for 3 days and while I was gone apparently someone didn't like my tank. When I came home I noticed that my tank looked funny... everything started off with heavy brown algae and then while I was on the couch relaxing and not being able to do anything for the tank... I started watching it get worse. 1 week after my surgery I finally got to where I felt like trying to look into what was wrong with the tank I noticed that there was a washer in my tank and it had already started to corrode. Once I saw it, I removed it and had my husband help me with a water change, changed my chemi pure bag added ammo chips. I also noticed that I had 2 emeral crabs that were acting really strange by sitting on the rocks in the line of the water flow and that my peppermint shrimp was dead. The next day after the water change my domionoe damsel was dead and I noticed that several snails were dead.

Since then I have done several water changes along with the chemi pure again and the ammo chips and things are looking better.

My question is what type of affect is this going to have on my live rock.. I had several of the worms die along with almost every snail, crab, fish... almost all my zoo's looking like they are dead too. Will they come back? What do I have to look forward too??
