So about three weeks ago I bought the polyp, he was happy in full bloom until about last week. Now it has shrunk to half it's size, and is bent over. He still has some bumps like Hes trying to bloom but can't. I've treated the tank with melafix and done a 10% water change to see if that would perk him up but he didn't get better or worse. My fish are all happy so I dont think its a problem with the water quality. I'm at such a loss I've never done a leather before and I dont want to kil. It.

Please help

29 gallon, with a scooter bleeny, purple frefish, and a Randals goby and xenia corals

Lighting is a fluval sky led with day and night setting

My water is fabulous with everything in the 0-1 range temp is 78f with a salinity of 1.022 I have a small power head so that there is good water flow but not overwhelming.

What exactly are your parameters? (Alkalinity, Calcium, Magnesium, Nitrate, Phosphate) Your salinity should be around 1.025, 1.026.
These corals tend to do much better with a lot of light and a lot of chaotic flow. They also shut down for a few days every now & then and shed a waxy layer. (normal) You might want to lay off the Melafix as well. GL.

Your salinity is too low for starters. Also leathers go through a shedding process as they grow and to get rid of algae and so forth off of their skin. You need to slowly get that salt up to 1.025 or 1.026
