^ I agree, VHO actinics are so much better. I think T5 is better than PC from the aspect that they have a lot more bulb choices in the blue range, but I still think Id prefer VHOs. Itll be a long time before I have any corals in my tank, so maybe I should rethink my lighting all together.
At first I wanted to get one of those all in ones like you posted, as I thought it was going to be the only way for me to get any supplemental lighting without going retro. For those of you who dont know (or remember) my tank caused a house fire because of my retrofitted VHOs. It was a freak accident, and probably wont happen again in a million years.......try telling my wife that thoug

My deal is, I have to get lighting that is plug and play.
Also, Im looking at building shelves on each side of the tank where it is going to be displayed. This will give the illusion of a wall unit holding the tank in place...kind of like an entertainment center, but tank and no TV

For this tol ook right, im going to have to build a canopy.
Because of this, I was thinking of going with 3 luminarc (allready purchased 2 minis used) reflectors, and either 250 or 400w MHs in the blue spectrum. This would negate the use of supplements, but I think I could be happy with that, as long as I can get blue enough bulbs.
What do you guys think?
Should I:
A) Stick with three halides and no supplements in luminarcs?
B) Look into a fixture like Dave posted to fit into a canopy?
C) None of the above, Ive got a better idea (but you have to share the better idea

)
Keep in mind, budget is limited, but time is not

As you guys know, Im in no rush, so I can search out the right deal. Also, Im not opposed to starting my tank with some of the many PC lights Ive got collecting dust in my garage, so this decision shouldnt postpone cycling/starting of the tank.
