Chad and I had talked about a cantilevered canopy. I think that could look really cool.

Thats pretty much exactly the concept I was thinking of....and saw in the past....

look at the all in ones aqua traders sells. it the same as coralife fixtures. i have used several of them but i bought mine off ebay. great price for all new equipment.

I have to say that I dont like the idea of PC supllements. I guess I didnt stress that before, but they are pracically worthless IMO. All of the fixtures on aquatraders site came with PCs, except one 18" fixture came with T5s. I think the T5s would be allright, but Im not spending extra cash on PCs....


I think you are right about getting a set of MHs Im happy with and going with those (discussed via telephone). Ive allready begun the design of my canopy based on this, and its what I built my stand on the premesis that I would folow this direction. Ive allready got some luminarcs, and now Ive found a deal I cant refuse Dont sell that set up Chad. Ill take it whenever you want to unload it. Ive done a little bit of research, and cant refuse this type of price braek.


So, option A is the winner, even though I only got one vote, and it was against this, lol......

I will comense on canopy construcction by the end of the week. Oh, and Ive done a tad bit more work to the tank, so I should update my build thread

I wouldn't say it is a vote against. That set up Chad has is great. This is entirely a matter of taste and I remember that you always liked blue bulbs. I think raduims on luminarcs is THE best blue light setup you can get.

Chad offered me a killa deal too! I basically went through all of this a couple of years ago, and came to the same decision, so it must be the right one for me. I can always go through bulbs until I find the right ones. I dont think itll be that hard, as Im not that picky. I just want something on the blue side of white, and Ill be very happy. I wont mind at all if it ends up more (or mostly all) blue.
