MH bulbs question.

I have two new XM MH bulbs, one of the sockets is not as bright as the other. I have switched the bulbs around and even used one of the old bulbs. What could make the one socket dimmer than the other?

are they the same type of ballast

sounds like a ballast trouble any way to swap the ballasts?

I have no clue I bought it of a guy here on RC. It is a hamilton ballast that is inclosed in a box, one for the MH and one fot the VHO

It does sound like the ballast is the problem.
