MH lamp heat.

glass cracked.:mad2: so i dont know what to do next. i can try to raise the canopy top make it taller. how far do you think the bulbs need to be from the water? right now they are 3-4 inches from water. any other suggestions are great.

raise halide lamps to at least 8" - 10" above water. Rig hood fan(s) so hot air inside canopy gets blown to the outside (ie: blow air to the outside- don't try to force air into canopy.)

What glass are they using that come as covers for the de halide pendant fixtures? I actually need a replacement piece (lost it, don't ask) and just ordered some float glass for it. Do the mfg of the pendants use tempered or borosilicate or just plain float glass?

thx,
Angela

get tempered its what every company uses for this purpose.

Ah, just saw this. So, can a glass shop temper a piece of glass for you? Man, I have no idea what happened to the piece that came with my pendant- it's probably somewhere, but I've got way too much stuff! :/

thx!

the glass i was using was supposed to be tempered. i may have been taken for a ride and just sold over priced regular laminated glass. regardless i am going no glass. i will add some trim to bottom of the canopy top get that up about 4 more inches. and change my fans around to pull hot air out.
