Currently my 250mh radium was about 5 inches off the water. My tanks 36 inches tall. how high off the water should I be running? I have no bleaching, but I see other tanks with the light like a foot off the water. Just wondering.

I'm running

1x 250w MH radium 8 hours
1x 24w T5ho coral plus 8 hours
1x 24w T5ho antic plus 8 hours
1x 150Wide 14k Kessil LED 3 hours midday and 1 hour sunup and sun down.

My corals all seem to like the light but I have one acan colony that's not happy regardless of what level.

The tanks going to be Monti heavy with a few hardy othrr SPSs.

Just wanting to get a fun discussion going.

MH light height.

36" is a very tall tank so maybe lower lighting works just fine. With a tank that tall you should be able to find a place for everything and not need to adjust your lights.

I run my 250 MH at 14" off the tank but my tank is only 25". The 14" wasn't calculated or tested. It just looked right.

My tank is 30 inches deep and I have my fixture 6-8 inches off the water. Thats using the legs that came with the fixture.

Mine is 31" tall and the 250w MH bulbs are 12" off the water. I would raise them a little if I could just to let the heat dissipate better.
