MH Light Timing

Ok, I finally did it and bought 2x250 MH HQI pendant retrofits from Hello Lights. I will be running Phoenix 14k bulbs in them. Being that I am switching from my 3 T5's and 1 VHO run off of my IceCap 660 what kind of acclimation will I have to do? My tank is 36x18x18. I hear people talking about screening the tank. Is that just regular window/door screen? And what type of photo period would I run?

the best way to aclimate your corals to the new light is to only run them a couple hours a day at first, then increase the photoperiod by about a half hour everyother day. I run 14k Phoenix bulbs over my tank also, they are nice but I still feel the need for actinics

you can also suspend the lights and lower them over the next 2-3 weeks.
