MH retrofit kit

Hey,

I ordered a 250 watt MH retrofit from you guys back at Christmas and it stopped working Friday. It is a 250 Watt ushio bulb with an electronic balast. The balast is a contained unit with the balast for 110 watts of pc. The pc is working fine, but the MH is not. I don't think the bulb is burned out. What are some things that I should look for to see what the problem is?

Thank you for your inquiry. Please give us a call at 1-714-385-0080 (or send us an email at customercare@marinedepot.com with your contact information) so we can try to trouble shoot what might be going on with your lights. That way we can try to figure out if it is the bulb or the ballast or even just a wiring issue that needs to be taken care of.

A couple of quick things to check it to see if the metal halide ballast is getting warm after turning the unit on. If the ballast does not warm at all, then more than likely the ballast will need to be replaced. If the ballast does get warm, then we would just need to double check to make sure all the wires are still attached properly. If all the wires are fitting properly, then more than likely it is the bulb.
