where can you get the ReefOptix III for ~$90 each?

I took back 2 fixtures and got other one. The $9.98 fixture has fixed base and won't accomodate MH HQI bulbs- it's way too small. So I got other one, $19.98, it's is the right one- same as picture above, with springed ends. I won't be doing any altering to it yet till I find better price. What I got now is model QL500WL.

I checked Wal-Mart and they only had fixed base fixture... If the price can't be beaten then I'll go ahead and DIY the fixture. Also, recording all of my work for future refernce and forum.

I was at walmart last night and walked past the same fixture i'm using with the spring loaded socket, it was 8.48 or something. Maybe try another walmart?

I returned the fixture and won't be doing the DIY because I got great deal on reef optix pendants and ballasts. However, maybe someday I'll try it.

Last thing, I compared the reef optix and regent- there isn't much difference and the reflectors are much alike.

There is a lot of difference between them. Just because they "look" similar does not mean they perform in a similar way
