MH - Time to bite the bullet

I am thinking of purchasing a couple Coralvue 10K 250W Single Ended Mogul from TheReefStop. Oppinions on the bulb?

I have one. It works fine for me. I'm not keeping SPS though. It's probably not the best light out there, but like I said, it has worked well for me.

You can probably save a few bucks on ebay.

FWIW I ran them on my 75 Gallon and had some of the best colors I have ever had on my SPS corals.

Again, I don't have SPS. But 9 times out of 10 corals I buy (even ones kept under MH's) end up looking better color wise in my tank.

I have the Coralvue setup, but I found the 10k bulb a little to pinkish for me. I am still using all the Coralvue components, but with a Reefmax 14k bulb.

I like the Coralvue bulbs, but when they shift on you in 9-12 months you can't always tell because they retain color good. IME.

Sorry to Hijack your thread mj, but can someone help me understand MH I have read about them and I know a bit about them but I have a question. Can you buy MH as a package deal i.e. Ballast, fixture, and bulb all together, or do you need to get them separately.

I think Hellolights has some retro kits you can get that come with everything.

I really love the color of my Coralvue Reeflux 12k's, especially since I don't have to use actinics to achieve the look. All the corals have been pretty happy with them so far too.
