MH to T5 Compared or opinions ?

I currently have 3 150 watt DE metal halides . And i'm thinking about purchasing a 6bulb Nova extreme pro . Just wondering how would they compare or is it even worth the switch ?

What are you keeping? What size tank?

If you are going to switch over to T5, do it right the first time. Get a Tek or ATI. A Current USA fixture is usually a downgrade.

150 5x2x2 tank i'm keeping mixture of stuff sps lps anem .etc ..i was actually looking at the tek are those better ? i mean the only reason i'm switching is because one of my ballast went out .. would you just replace the ballast or do the whole t5 switch ?

A good setup- Tek Elite at the minimum or ATIs- of T5s will easily compare, and in some cases beat halides. They have a much different look than halides, they are flourescents, so they will lack substantial shimmer. Some people preferthem, others don't.

I would look at the 8x54 or 8x80 Sunpowers or PowerModules by ATI. Either would work well. The SunPower is cheaper, but just as effective as the PowerModule....the PM is more fnacy and showroom-ish.

The cheapest way would be replace your current ballast. i would do that if you have been happy with your light setup and its results.
