MHs and VHOs

How do you know when you have to replace your bulbs?

I have 250W hqi de mh and 140W actinic VHOs.

VHO Actinics last about 6 months, depending on the burn rate. MH's around a year for most, HQI's burn out quicker - 6 mos. for a 400W Radium on HQI. Dunno about the 250's, or what spectrum you're burning.
