Mhucasey's SPS obsession

I'm watching closely to see if the growth picks up. Coral health has never been better in this tank:)

Color was a biggie for me too. I thought I had really good colors to begin with, but I swear they improved with the calrx.

Holy rhymes with Schmidt, Matt!!!!
The corals are responding amazingly. The pe is tremendous.
Wow!!
Colours look more rich as well.. 3 weeks.. Wow

I saw you have 500g of zeomix in reactor. I just added mine tonight at 500g. I read in the instructions and it said 100-500g for 100l. I have a 120 so that would be like 2000g at max. Never ran that much when I ran Zeovit.

Matt....after seing those last pictures I will never post again in my thread............

What else I can say that has not been said ?

3 HURRAY to your success !!!

Best
Daniel

Wow, I'm loving a couple of those pink pieces!!! Yowzers! I need to find some of those kinda goodies around here! :D

Wow, some of those colors are simply outstanding. :)

Remind me, all T5 right, no LED? What combo are you running now?

Only T5s, yes. I have been using 2 Fiji purple, one coral plus, one AquaBlue Azure, 2 ATI actinics, and 6 Blue Plus.

I think half their recommended amount is much safer. Zeolites can mess up your SPS quickly if you overdo them.

That's good to know- it may be the constant infusion of trace elements from the reactor. It may also be the trace amounts of CO2 enriching everything in the tank. I think sometimes reef tanks strip the CO2 out of the water too much. It will be interesting to see what happens:)

I had to start telling myself that I would only get a coral of a certain color when I went to the store. I've been stockpiling pinks and blues. Now I need more yellows!

You and I should go to AquaSD some day and meet/buy some acros. Then you can come to my place and show me what I'm doing wrong:beer:

There were some questions about what I feed the reef, so I thought I'd share. I put frozen in a bottle like this:

Usually a mix of Mysis, Reef Frenzy, and Garlic Brine. Im out of Mysis at the moment. I add DI and thaw it out and keep the mix in the fridge.

Great video, thanks for posting it. Always good to see how others feed their tanks.

Thanks:) When I see people post that they feed one half cube of frozen to their tanks it makes me feel bad for their fish. That amount of food is used over 2-3 days, as well as a feed of pellets on each day.
