Micro skimmer

No news or updates yet on them. They are still in the development phase and there is not current ETA or specs as of yet.

I'm excited, though it's good it's not out yet. I need to save up =)

I hope they are rated somewhere in the 24 - 40 gallon system ranges. A lot of skimmers in this range aren't really great. There's a few, but I think they're all a bit over powered.

We will have some updates on this soon, as Scott mentioned above that we had hoped to have these ready by now, we will not release a product when it's not ready yet.
This is why our products stand the test of time and are a mile above in quality. :)

But stay tuned :)

Maybe MACNA?

I agree with Kinetic, most smaller bodied skimmers don't have the air input needed to make them especially effective compared to their big brothers with big pumps. Seems like a great market opportunity

My biggest question: how quiet will these be? I'm sure the performance will be great, given BK's past.

I've had a Simplicity DC skimmer, and while the pump was quiet, the actually bubbling was intensely loud. I have a NYOS Quantum now, and while the bubbles etc. are quiet, the pump is an AC pump and produces a loud humm. Both showed about the same Decibel levels when on, but the sounds were different.

It would be great to have a BK micro skimmer that's as quiet as my DC return pump (which shows no decibels!).

Since all the red dragon pumps are are as close to silent as they get and since all Bubble King skimmers have a silencer on the air intake, my guess is they will be among the quietest skimmers you can get. Especially since these skimmer would have a very small DC style pump in them which will generate no noise and next to no resonance.
