Microbacter7

can you dose this daily to keep your nitrifying bacteria in the tank. or is this product just use as needed?

It's not meant to be used daily. This is what I found and it says
Grossly overdosing MicrōBacter7 will not significantly increase the effectiveness of the product, nor the rate at which it enacts changes in aquaria.

So basically use only as needed or you just are wasting product for no real benefit. Once the tank is cycled you shouldn't have to worry about the bacteria levels as they will mostly maintain on their own.

MicroBacter7 is a great bacteria additive if you plan to carbon dose. I dosed it about 3 times a week along with vodka on my old tank and had great results

There are tins of bacteria additives on the market, and for the cost, mb7 works very well.. As the above user stated, if you are using some form of carbon dosing, it works extremely well.. I have used it throughout the years, though my mainstay is zeobak(it is excellent for jumpstart of my pellets). But when I did use the mb7, I utilized the maintenance dosage..

But it works well..

thanks for the response fellas.

i just thought that good nitrifying bacteria would help the tanks parameters along with water changes. I do not carbon dose but I do run CHemi Pure Elite which has Activated Carbon in it.

Good bacteria IS good..
But who says your bacteria is "bad" or that one can't get "good" bacteria without pouring a bottle of "something" in...

Personally I have been using MB7 for 7 days or so now and can say I have noticed ZERO change in my tank from its usage..

That's the thing to a certain extent.. And mb7, in my experience, and ask off the bacteria solutions I've ever used take longer.. Like at least a week.. I kind of ad the stuff and forget about it at this stage.. But with mb7, in my systems, typical, if I have a shot of algea, in about 10 days, it will disappear "mysteriously", with the only thing having been added or fifteen is the mb7. And that's been on 3 different systems.. I don't add it regularly, and only when I decide to go buy a bottle..

But bacteria solutions are not something(like most things in tanks) that are going to happen quickly.. Well, in my experience, except zeobak, in that the water clears in a few hours..
