I got up this morning to look at my tank before work and noticed it was not acting right. After investigation it looks like he has a ton of bristol worm hairs in his mouth. I have seen him move anything that gets close to his hole and this must have happened last night. I tryed to feed him and he wants to eat but cant. Will he eventually get all the hairs out? Is their anything I can do? This is my favorite fish and do not want to lose it.

Thanx for all the concerned help. He ended up doing just fine after about two days. Just in case this happens to some one else.

I've seen fish over the years with bristleworm hairs around their mouths. It's never been an issue, IME.

My melenarus wrasse has eaten all of my bristle worms I think. Ive seen him eat at least one and cant ever find anymore at night like I used to be able to. He has never shown any reason to be concerned.
