Actually they would have been exposed to ich. Ich doesn't magically appear when fish are stressed. They are more susceptible when stressed.

jojo42689: I assume that your friend didn't get them directly from ORA, but through a dealer in which case most likely they were exposed to ich as some point after leaving ORA.

nope my friend got them strait from ora in the bag and all we waited 1 hr for the fish at the store and they were never exposed until they got to his house

ich was probably in his tank and he just didnt notice it on his fish, u normally only notice it when the fish is stressed and has a lot on it.

i paid 250 for them. They are Bad A for sure. I've had them for a week in my in line frag tank, no signs of stress for them so far. They have been munching on Dainichi pellets mostly. Hoping they start to host in the carpet i have for them.

thats whats up im not saying every midnight clown you get from ora are gonna have ick but theres always the possible chance they might have or get it but it will go away if you treat it well (may i see your midnights ynnhoj86)

I had a similar experience with a pair of Midnight clowns direct from ORA and have seen 2 other threads about these guys being sick. It's not just you. I have the remaining midnight clown in QT, still not doing well. The first one died after 3 days and it's been 5 since the remaining one has eaten.

The fish will darken as they age. However,These fish IMO might have the True Orange Ocellaris coloration in them. Not just this pair but all the NBO's.

anyone that thinks that ORA is ich-free needs to check their head. A hatchery like that on such a massive scale will experience ich in their fish from time to time. It is so common, and fish can get it so easily, it is not surprising, but luckily easily curable compared to some other illnesses that fish come down with (flukes, fungal infections, etc.)

i am almost possitive most tropical marine fish harbor ich in there gills, and it becomes active when the fish's immune system is damaged by stress? but you're correct, no magic.
