Might be selling my tank, but at least my livestock.

Well great news for my new fiance and myself... We are pregnant :celeb2::celeb1::thumbsup:

With that said I will need to turn my office into a nursery, and dont have the space for a tank in any other part of the house. So I'm kicking around selling all my livestock and storing the tank, stand and lights. Or possibly just selling everything and starting over from scratch down the road.

I figure that it would be perfect for someone who has a tank to just grab all my rock and livestock, and they would be up and running with really nice established rock covered in coraline and sponges, as well as a whole slew of corals, fish etc.

Tank is a 57g starfire illuminata with black silicone, custom steel stand, floating canopy with two kessils and two t5's, tons of pumps, wp25, euroreef skimmer thats been modded, carbon/gfo reactors etc.

Heres a list of whats just a few things would cost.

Custom stand, $400
tank $500
kessils $275 X2
T5 fixture $200+
wp25 $60
sump $100
skimmer $120
just the wood for the skins and floating canopy cost $250
ATO $90

Livestock
tomini tang
scopis tang
clown pair(one basic looking clown, one black and white) both juveniles
yellow clown goby
red firefish
cherub pygmy angel, juvenile

Large rbta thats hosting about 6 sexy shrimp
six sexy shrimp
cleaner shrimp
peppermint shrimp
Tons of snails and hermits
Two emerald crabs

Couple sps colony's
Torches
Frogspawn
Several acans
La laker zoas
Cars
Chalices
Leathers
Duncan
Couple monti caps
Etc

I'm thinking I'll take $550 for all the livestock corals and rock.

Or $1400 for everything. Lights, tank, stand, skimmer, and A LOT of support equipment. 4 stage rodi, salt, buckets, tons of supplements, carbon, gfo, Red Sea test kits, three eheim heaters etc

If you end up parting out I'll take all the rock for my 75 gal that's in the works.

Congrats! My first kid is now 2.5 yo and it's even the best thing that's ever happened to ne

Thanks man I appreciate it... I'll post some pics tonight but I really don't want to part things out, plus I'd be looking to move the livestock and rock together since the bubble tipsily attached to the same spot for the last couple years and some corals are growing on it.

I hear ya. Just throwing it out there as a worst case scenario to at least get rid of something. I'd most likely take some corals too as I'll need some stuff to not make the 75 look barren. Just keep my offer in your back pocket in case you need it. If not, no biggie

Thanks guys we are really excited. Life has been absolutely crazy lately and it might even get more chaotic before the baby arrives. Might need to move out of the area. If that's the case I'll for sure be getting rid of the tank and might just part it out to move things quicker. I'll try and post pics tonight.

Keep the tank running. Great way to rock the baby to sleep :). I rock both of my kids to sleep while watching the tank :) Can't you move the tank to a different room?

Congrats on your new bundle of joy!

There's several reasons to making the decision. Work is also a large factor. I'm currently in the process of changing careers and it will most likely take me out of the area, and be very time demanding for the first few months. So moving and maintaining a tank would be difficult. I would also welcome the opportunity to start fresh. I love my tank and stand, but I think I would aquascape a tad different as well as add different livestock.
