Mike and Terry, your tank is beyond amazing...I've been tankless for the last few years, but have been contemplating a new mixed reef. I read your entire thread and I have to have a 300dd for my in wall build. As others have said, you are an inspiration to us all.
That is a mighty fine thing to say! We love the hobby and our animals, and if it helps get other folks to get excited about reef keeping, that's a bonus. Thanks for the compliment and let us know how we can help you with your build.
Just wondering how the equipment room/sumps/equipment pictures are coming? (i like that portion of tanks more then others) also, how do you like the new Closed Loop positioning and operation. any changes you wish you could have/would have done? thanks!
David, the closed loops are working great. Here's what the layout looks like:

The back CL outlets (green arrows) are full 1" tee with two 1" 45 degree elbows that are aimed at the back of the rock structures.
The front CL outlets (green arrows) are 3/4" outlets with loc line fittings. They are also tee'd off with opposing 3/4" flare nozzles. The aim is to get flow bouncing off the side glass and upwards.
We are also using Tunze 6055s (blue arrows) mounted up near the top of the tank to create some high level targeted flow onto the corals.
There is also a big 'ol Tunze 6100 (red arrow) sitting in a Tunze Rock on the bottom aiming slightly upward toward the middle of the tank.
All of this is doing a really nice job at creating some targeted as well as random flow. The corals seem to be enjoying it, and the desjardini is a freak - he cruises from outlet to outlet swimming against the "tide"
I'll record a sump room video tomorrow and post it so you guys can see how it all looks now. Thanks for keeping tabs on our thread!
