Im new at this and need some advise. I got this yesterday. It's high flow, high tank and I have the lights around 70 power for a few hours.

No3 - 3
Ph - 8.3
Kh - 9.1

Was all green and pe all over. The brown areas have zero pe. Please take a loom and advise.

Acclimation to new parameters and to new lights. Depending on who had a stronger lighting setup ( you or the person you got it from) it may have been happier placed on the bottom of the tank and slowly moved up. Then again it may do just fine left alone where it is. Time will tell.

4 months. That pic is from the first day. But it's new set up, yes. And no I haven't had SPS before. Hence my question and concern. Just so suprising the fast change in 18 hours.

And that's guys for the feedback.

In 18hrs it whent from green to brown?

Looking closer is more purple than brown. And placed 3/4 high. The spongodes and setosa looks fine on the same level. Perhaps I am jumping the gun but thought I should ask just in case.

Edit to say, I think it's flow. It's getting blasted and it you look at it closely, you can see the purple/ brown is all the same side.

As others have said, it's too soon to really tell what's going on with the coral.
If everything else seems fine the best thing to do would be to leave it for a few weeks and see how it is, moving it around and making changes will just stress it out.

I ended up changing the flow. It was getting a bit of linear flow. It is already recovering overnight, going back the the green/yellow coloration.

Thanks for the response.
