milli question

I broke off a large piece of my milli the other day while cleaning the tank. I was wondering if I just intertwine it in with the other piece that is anchored good will it eventually encrust together where the branches touch? It is a fairly large piece and wouldnt epoxy in place very well.

I've had this work on Hydnophora and Pocillapora that encrusted back together.

Haven't tried an Acro, theoretically it should work, but it could cause tissue recession where the corals are wedged together... Shrug.
