milwalkee pH Controller

I got a MRC calcium reactor and a milwalkee ph controller for christmas. i understand that the ph controller is used to control the reactor. but i thought it was to turn of the co2 when it got to low to prevent media from turning to mush and lowering the ph of your tank. but my controller turns off when ph is too high??? can someone please explain how i am supposed to hook up the controller and how to set it????

You got the wrong one, there are two version of the SMS122.

Call Milwaukee, their Tech Support people are great. I thought mine was backwards when I first got it but it wasn't. The alarm light blinks when it is running and is off when it is not. I stuck the probe in a Lees Specimen container and hung it in the sump so it overflows into the main section and it works great.
It is possible you have the reverse model but thats not normal, Milwaukee can tell you if you give them the serial number.
