Minh's 320 reef

My Regal angel is doing great. He eats aggressive now just like all the other fishes in my tank. He seem only eat frozen food att his time, and pick on the rock. Gainning weight and the minor fin torn by the Yellow tang in the first 30 mins when I put him into the DT is healing. I think he will do just great.
My wife got me a multicolor Fungi, really nice color. He has two different shades of Orange, green and purple. She did not get it for cheap, but I am so happy that she got it for me.

My Regal Angel this AM. He is really doing great and is eating aggressively after just 6 days in the tank, 7th day today. Not quite eating dry food yet, just frozen. Hopefully he will do well.

I got my second Regal angel today at about 1:30. Took him home and put him into my DT. Looking at him a little and go back to work. Also a small on, misbared, seem healthy.
The yellow tang bother him a little and the other Regal angel also bother him a little but he is not running away, instead he is facing them and fight back. This is a great sign IMO. He was cruising about when I went back to work. Will see if he eat tonight when I feed the tank. So far, I did not look at him long enough to see if he pick on the rock. This is a special order Regal angel, and I think I can do a better job get him used to captivity than the LFS so I took him home practically on arrival. This was what I did with my first Regal angel. Will see how he does over the next few weeks.

Well, the second Regal angel is shade smaller than the first one. The tangs and foxface did not give him problem, neither are the Wantanabe angel pair or the Flame angel pair. It is the first Regal angel that give my new Regal angel the most problem. Still it does not seem to be too much. He still picking at the LR but not eating the food that I feed the tank, like the other Regal angel, yet. The light is out. I will have to see how the harassment is like tomorrow. If there is no improvement, I think I will put one of them in the frag tank, which ever I can catch. I like to put the first one in there, but I may not have a choice.

Another note, my tiger tail cucumber reproduced asexually. I only put 1 tiger tail cucumber in the tank, but I clearly see two today. I would not be surprise if there are more. Both of the cucumbers are full size and are larger than the one I put in many months ago.

I got these tiny Chiton that reproduced in my tank. They are black and white. Adult size only about 1/4 inch. These guys are kinda neat. I will try to take picture of them this weekend.

:( :(
Sad note. My second Regal Angle did not make it. All the fish leave him along except the first regal angel. He harassed the new one. I tried to catch one of them but was not successful until he was weaken to the point of not able to avoid the net. By then it was too late.

I will wait a while and will try again. I am going to sell my PBT so my Frag tank is empty (except a Lawn mower blenny). I will get a medium size Regal angel instead of a small one. This will be a while. I will look for another Regal when the PBT is sold. Then I can condition the new fish in the frag tank until he is ready to fight off the resident Regal.

:( :(

Nice tank! :) What are you feeding that CBB? I've had one in QT for almost a month now, but still can't figure out what/if he's eating.

My tank was full of Medusa worms in the sand bed. He decimated them and now eating mysis that I feed the tank, and picking on the sand and rock.
The was one potential fish that could harrassed him, a Powder Blue Tang, but I took him out and sold him. I did this in preparation to add the CBB and the Regal angel. IMO, bot addition was sucessfull (at least the first Regal)
Once all the aptasias are gone, I will feed him clams on the half shell. Try this in your QT, he will go for it.

I've tried clams & mussels, no dice. The one thing I haven't tried (and can't locate where I live) is oyster on the half shell.

I guess you tried fresh clam on the 1/2 shell. That always did the job for me with regarding to getting my CBB to eat.

Great vid! I must say how impressed I am by everyone's improved still and movie photography skills lately.

This is how I take care of Bubble algae.
This rock from my holding tank was full of bubble algae. In my DT where the condition is better for coralline algae, the coralline algae just overgrowth and cover up the bubble algae and that is the end of the bubbles
:).

For many many years, I was never able to keep Elegance. I bought them, they just get sick in my tank and died. A few months ago, I bought one from Austin Aqua Farm, thinking that if he get sick, I will pull him and treat him with antibiotic. He was a wild caught from Australia. AAF got a large one and fragged them to a bunch of little ones. I got one. Here he is agter been in my tank for a few months. I need to feed him more often to get him to grow.

I did some maintenance and re aquascape the tank yesterday. All cleared today. I am really happy witht he R side of the tank now. Very open rockl structure and with a cave slightly bend. I can see the back wall of the tank through the cave so it give a lot of dept to the tank. Low rock given plenty of room for the coral to grow and plenty of open water for my fish. Pictures just does not do it justice. It look a lot better in person. I just need to get that large Orange Cap, in the back, to the LFS, or at least out of the tank.
The L side of the tank is full of clams and anemones on the sand so there is not a lot of thing I can do with that. Cannot shade my precious anemones and clams. I think I will eventually have aminimalist aquascape on that side. This will give a really uneven tank, but sometime, if I do it right, can be very beautiful and interesting
