Minh's Purple S. gigantea

Minh i just thought id take this time to let you know your S. gig looks horrible, and by horrible i mean its looking really good ...glad everything it going good for you :)

I kept mine directly under a 250 watt MH. I don't have the anemine anymore unfortunately. Yours looks very similar to it when I first got it.

Can you give me an idea of how green and the time fram of the color change? I have her in a 65 g tank lighted with 2X250 W DE MH. She is getting greener day by day. Clearly greenish today instead of a hinted of green last week.

Here is the yellow/green Gigantea today. She is healthy at this time. Very sticky and will eat anything, fold over the food in a few seconds. Fish cannot pull the food loose. She is killing any coral within touch. She is fighting with the male H. malu so I have to separate them with a wall.

Not a neon green but more of like a dark, grass green if that makes sense. It took at least a couple months to make the transition from it's brown state, but once it did, it was quite pretty, and I wish I still had it. Yours is looking great btw, good job.

I got home today and the Onyx clowns is laying this huge nest of eggs. They are doingin this regularly. Last patch hatched Friday night.

Also here is the Yellow Gigantea in my tank today. It is doing well and grew a lot since I first got it 2 months ago. Today picture and on from 7/2012 when I first got it. You can tell about the growth of the anemone using the clam in the foreground and size of the fish as references.

Here is my Yellow/green gigantea today. It is about 14 inches in diameter. It is touching two of the Maxi-Mini without any apparent interaction or stinging.

This 65 g tank full of corals and other anemones is really too small for him. I am getting a 100 g cube ready for the two Giganteas. Hopefully I can get it up and running over the holiday. Both are doing very well at this time. They are extremly sticky. I feed the purple Gigantea a piece of shrimp yeserday, the clowns was very hungy and my huge female took the shrimp away from the anemone becasue it as soon as the shrimp touch the anemone, the fish also go for it. The anemone only have two tentacles tough the shrimp piece and these was rip right off of the anemone. Too bad for the clown, she brought the shrimp right back to the anemone. Once he have more than two tentacle touch the piece of shrimp, the clown loose the food, and the anemone eat it within a min.

Minh, your purple really reminds me of my purple, except mine was completely bleached and didn't look nearly as good as yours..... It's nice to watch what is coming with your thread.. Good work!!

I have a littel time at work today so I update my Yellow and Green Giganteas thread. Both doing verywell but the Green one is just not a typical Gigantea. Methink it got some Haddoni blood in it.
