Minh's Red Haddoni

OrionN

Moved on
I got an opportunity to obtain a Red Haddoni from a fellow reefer this weekend. This carpet was in captivity for several months but out grew his 30ish gallon cube tank. I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time so he belong to me now.

I think he is very beautiful but very PO at this time. I just got him into my tank 30 about 1 hr ago. The following are a few pictures of him today.

1st picture was the picture that was send to me via text message. He was under LED light

I think RC server stuck. Will add pictures later

3rd picture a few minutes after he was place in my tank. A very PO carpet. He is in a 100 gal cube holding tank, under 250W 10,000K DE MH, until he goes into my 340 tank (in the fish room but no water and not level yet)

Try to move him as little as possible. They are very sensitive to changes in their environment. Its a beautiful animal and I hope he gives u many years of enjoyment.

Hey Minh very nice to meet you today and i hope she continues to do well for you, I miss her already but i know shes in good hands and you be good to her.. Thanks again and look foward to the updates on this beast of a carpet.....

Very nice and congrats! I am always hoping for great opportunities like this from my local reefers also.

Thanks Rudy. He is a beauty. It was very nice to meet you. The clowns you breed are really first class. Once my set up is up, I got to get some from you.

Here he is this AM as the light turn on. Stay exactly where I put him, dug in and all. I think he is no longer PO. Now he is under 10,000K MH 250W DE, right under the light

minh, you seem to have a nem factory at home :spin1:
how many tanks do you have? Got any pictures of you main display tank?

I got 6 tanks and several baby clownfish tanks that don't count. 5 different systems.

I am putting together a fish room with 340 DT, a QT tank (30 g cube), a hospital tank (dry 20 g tank). The DT and QT will be hook up together but when I need it to be a QT then I can just turn a few vales and move the return pump from the system sump to the QT sump and isolate it out
I will also have a wall with a bunch of smaller 20 g clownfish raising tanks all hook up to 1 system. The brood stock are all in my DT tank and small brood stock tanks that hook up to the main DT system
Then there is also a reef tank at my office.

In 6 months, I hope that is all I will have instead of being a slaves to my anemones.

Minh....

you can get one of those display tanks they have in the LFS. The stair step looking one. When the lower you go down the deeper the tank gets.

I think that would be perfect for you.

<evil grin>

Thanks everybody. Worm, no stair step tank for me. I already have a huge DT, just need to work on it and get it start.

Yeah but this could be your grow-out tank... :)

I am jealous of you. If my dad still had the house in San Antonio I would use the excuse that I had to go to the 'store' and visit him and you at the same time. LOL

The summer here is hot. I did everything I can short of a chiller and the temp is 84 or 85. I set the heater at 83 so the swing is not much. I have the Radion light that will go to the new tank, but I think I will break them out this evening as put them on my holding tanks. Just need to to get some aluminum railing from Home Depo after work today. Drill a few holes and I will have my Radion Railing. Far cheaper than buy them from Aquatech Marine. Will update picture with LED in a few days.

Got home over luch and snatch this picture. Tank temp steady at 82. It is near 94 outside here in Corpus today. I think I will keep the LED instead of MH.
It is really hard to get accurate picture with LED. I got to get the white balance adjust. Anybody got any tips to get good accurate SLR pictures under LED? I have a Canon Rebel T1.

Here is a picture. Blue and green got boosted and red got decreased. It looks a lot redder that this in person, even under LED. The MH pictures above give the best color as to how he look in real life.
