Mini pendent question

i just talked to someone at reefgeek.com and he suggested the mini pendent 250 w double ended phoneix to go in my canopy. this will be for the 60 hex if you dont remember. anyone have any experience with these fixtures canopy will be 12-15" tall

I don't think you would need a pendant INSIDE a canopy even for DE's. I would go with lumenarc reflectors for DE and you just mount them in there and get a piece of glass (look up whether type glass matters) to sheild them for UV. I believe it's just tempered glass.

Never used the fixture, but the lamps are not open rated, so don't look at them with no glass between you and the lamp! Over time, it will make your lenses turn yellow and your skin turn red!

they are sunlight supply brand and says can be used inside a canopy. i was just trying to find some info. maybe he recomended them to me cause it was more expensive then the standard 250 mogul

i was looking for the luminarc evern before i talked to reefgeek i am not sure if they come small enough to fit inside

Just beware of the heat in the canopy. Maybe get a small corallife fan for the back of your canopy. If scared only turn on when your home.

i have seen them in a canopy

they are fine and are one of the best reflector for hqi bulbs


just add a few fans to vent the heat away from the aquarium


and they do put off a lot of heat
