minimal light requirments for holding tank?

im going to set up my 20g QT to house some softies(kenya,colt,polps,)because im in the middle of aquascaping.I dont want to spend a bunch of $ on a nice light when i wont need it in a couple weeks.So what im going to do is get a cheap light from lowes and go to the LFS to bulbs.what is the minimal light requirment i should get.ive been running my refugium lights (6500k at 75w'sx2)over them now but that want last.thanx

For your needs you can run almost anything. You can use a clip on light from lowes or even Walmart with a 65w PC bulb.

I use 2x 24w T5 (with individual reflectors) over my QT tank and have kept just about any kind of soft corals happy under that lighting.
