Option 2 - I like the 2 separate outcroppings.

I think option 2 looks nicer with just rock, but once the sps take off in option 1 it'll look a lot nicer and all you'll see is coral with more interesting shapes while the rock is lower and hidden.

Plus you have more places to put more sps in option 1.

I'm setting up my rocks in my tank now as well, stealing option 1... thanks lol.

And there's more vertical room for your fish to swim and corals to grow.. I think it makes the tank look bigger

Yes true that's why I wrote about the SPS plan.. when only rocks option 2 seems good but option 1 has more flat space and bottom of some columns/legs we can grow some good plates

I would love to see more follow ups and before and after shots in this thread.

also curious how many are using more rock and/or sandbed etc. somewhere else in the system

curious about how this one worked out long term:

What a difference in appearance it makes having the sand in! Looks so much like a landscape now.

After looking it over for a day, I shifted the rock around a little bit to make the pattern flow better. Subtle, but better to me...

And this one: how did it work out?

I did something similar in my old tank. I glued plastic hook anchors to the back glass and ziptied rocks to those anchor points.

The idea is to only work with one pilar on a PVC Foam board. Materials used Fiji rock dead, PVC Foam, Tie-rips, Epoxy, Speedglue and Keramikkleber.

Almost done...

Corals are doing fine, but some algae problem. I probably destroyed the biological balance in my tank with the restart.
