Mis-Barred: Interesting Defect or Scar?

I'm sure most of us have seen examples of mis-barred clownfish, or even own a few, being a breeder of them, I have heard that this is a genetic defect, and I have also heard that this is an occurance from bad water quality during metamorphisis. I personally believe that this is a defect, usually a batch a 50 will result in 1 or 2, but does anybody know of mis-barring caused by bad water quality? I personally like the unique mis-barring and have kept one A. ocellaris for myself that has this unique trait. I just wanted to know what you clownfish guys felt about it, and if you like it or not.

Misbarred Clowns are cool...

Not sure what causes the mutation or defect, but I like it. I have 2 black and white misbarred oscellaris clowns & I think they are way more interesting than standard clowns. Here is a bad pic from about 5 months ago, they are almost solid black and white now and look really cool... The insane clown posse:

I'll try to post a new picture later.

Yeh, I'll have to get some pics up, once I get a memory card for my new digi camera! I'll have to agree that mis bars are more unique and interesting.
