Missing mantis :(

I i'd a small one inch mantis in my tank as a G. Smithi. However this was almost a month ago. I added my cleanup crew about 3 weeks ago. He has been missing since the 15th of last month.

I have only 2 small hermits, 3 margarita snails and a turbo cruzing around, so i most likely would have noticed if he died out in the open.

Do you guys think i lost him or is he hiding somewhere in my tank?

Gosh, it's tough to say without knowing how much rock you've got, and how big the tank is - Assuming that it's the tank in the tags at the bottom of your post, then I bet you could go quite a while without seeing a small mantis like that. However, your tags also say the tank is cycling, which means you could have some spikes that could possibly kill the mantis. What is your water quality like?

Sorry i havent changed it, I have about 23 pounds of rock and the tank is a 20H, no powerheads he could of got sucked into, and its not cycling anymore

Good day for me. After a month of watching my tank, i saw him again today. He is a different color, he was green when i got him, then he molted and was less green. Now his is a really neat gray black and green. Just glad to see him again, he is really neat.

I never got any really nasty spikes of ammonia or trite, but trates went off the cahrt for a few days during the cycle. Water quality is great now. I have 0 everything and i have been feeding the hermit every other day. Ph around 8.3-4. Temp is constant 79 all the time. Dont have an Alk or Ca test yet, so i have held off adding corals. I am making the mantis his own private tank which he will own. its a 14x14x12 cube that will rely on HOB filtration.
