Missing Sissortail Goby***Locate ???

I have 2 Sissortail Gobies that are always together. This AM only 1 showed up for feeding. Should I try to find him/her and if she is dead pull her out? Their burrow is under a piece of LR that probably weighs 7 lbs. I am thinking it might be worse to stir-up stuff under the LR than just leave the Goby to nature.

Any thoughts?

They always looked like a mirror image...if I get another do you think they will be as compatible?

Sometimes my gobies sleep in. I have three that sleep under the same piece of live rock. Each day when lights come on they slowly emerge one by one. Perhaps yours is still 'in bed'???? They can also be jumpers. Have you looked around the tank?

Just went an checked for jumper...nowhere. A Golden-head Sleeper and Blue-spotted Watchman also sleep under the rock like yours..I love them too...hand feed the Watchman and Sissors. Very sad if she/he is gone...been gone since 5 AM and it's 11 now...too long...I worry she might be stuck or something and if I get her out may save her...there is just so much activity around that rock...2 cleaner shrimp that crawl all over my arm. She ate around 10 last night.

Couldn't take the pressure...lifted the big rock out and saw the Goby dash under the next rock...so it is alive but I don't know much more than that. Is it possible that it is nesting? I would be surprised as the rock is shared sleeping quarters to the other 3 Gobies. But I don't know anything about Sissortail reproduction. At least she/he is alive.

There wasn't any detritus or gunk under the rock at all. Guess I can relax ... grateful she is alive.

Sissortail didn't come out again all of today. Cannot catch to observe as he just runs under another rock if I pick up the one he's under. Is this typical behavior of an injured Goby?

Hard to say, not that I know anything about them. Useually when a fish hides, least mine, it is becasue something scared the crap out of them, useually me. Guess lifting rocks do not help but hey, I am 100% guilty of doing that too.

Think I may have a bigger problem than I thought. My Blue-spotted Watchman is really big....over 4 inches and 1/2 wide. His Pistol Shrimp has been missing for a few weeks so he has been sleeping under the same rock with the Sissortails and Golden-head Sleeper. Tonight, the other Sissortail came out and there are stripes along his head (scrapes) that look suspiciously like his head was bitten by the Watchman. No sign of the other sissortail tonight either...I bet it was bitten by him.

Maybe I should try to catch him..LOL..they are smart and he is very reclusive. Think a bottle trap would catch him? I don't want a mean Gobie in my tank...love the sissortails and sleeper more.
Anyone know much about the big Watchman? I know they can act aggresive when they are with their Pistol, but is in their nature to be that way?

Is it the blue spotted / pink goby? heard they were the meanest of the bunch. I wanted one at first.

He's call Blue-spotted Watchman...his overall color is army greenish and he has blue dots. I have seen him open his mouth to threaten other fish when they came near his burrow when his Pistol was around. Big mouth too !!! I think he will have to go. Just going to take a while to catch him. They are neat fish, if you don't have other Gobies...all was good until he started sharing the others' burrow.
