mitch's B/W & O/W breeding clownfish thread

My clowns haven't laid in a long time.Doesn't really matter though no one wants tomato clowns anyway. It was kind of more like an experiment for me to see if I could do it. I still have the 4 lone survivors.I would be really interested in picking up at least one of your clowns when they are ready.I can't wait to see the vid.

Awsome vid!Do you have any rots you might want to sell?My tomatos finally laid again so I figured I'll try again. Thanks,Daniel

I just re-started my culture with refridgerated rots so They're not super dense yet, but they should be up to good numbers by mid-week. Assuming that's the case, I'll give you as many as I can. I need to be at 2-3 million when my next hatch occurs, but that should be at least 13-14 days away, so I should be good. I'll go ahead and split the culture tonight, so as long as your babies don't hatch too quickly we should be good. I'll PM you Tuesday and we can get together.

babies at 55 days. I think they are developing some interesting coloration. ???

Any updates on any new hatches?I got one last hatch out of my tomatos before I took them back to Bio.I still have about 50 or 60.

yeah the PNG's hatched a cluth about six days ago, and I definatley have some survivng larvae, but I'm not sure how many. I'm rearing them in a much larger black tub, so they're kinda hard to see. My B/W O/W pair have been laying steadily, but I've let the last few hathces go, as I've had total mortality on the four hatches I tried before that, but with the new larval rearing system I'm expecting much better results. Kinda focusing on the PNG's right now, so I'm not really planning on working on the new cutches from the OCC's right now. Probably start a new thread soon for the percs, but I'm going to wait until the current nest is hatched, so I can document The entire cycle more completey in the opening post. Why did you get rid of your tomatoes?? Are you planning on a new pair?

Good to hear all the fish are still laying nicely for you on what sounds like regular schedule.I took my tomato pair to eddie because of the baby.Been real busy with her the last week or so not much time for fish.I regret taking them back now.The male got eaten by a frog fish in less than 24 hrs.I'm talking with a guy now to get a breeding pair of clarkii's from him and I still have my non bredding pair of O's and some of the fry from the last hatch.Did you take some of your babies over to eddie? Also I'll return your bucket to you either tomorrow or saturday.Take it easy.Daniel

pcs at 3 and a half months, plus one of my little baby fry at 38dys from my PNG perc pair.

yeah!!! My female is all healed from the 2nd tang attack and I got both the tang and the wrasse out, so they can enjoy the tank alone. And today they spawned for the first time in months...and on the tile!! Also including a sort of fuzzy pic of a 1/2" long platinum currently in my growout system. not mine though. came from a friends pair, but still very cool.

Awsome. The rots have just came up to a decent number. My occ's are going to spawn real soon if they have not already. You got any other hatches coming soon?

the png percs should lay tommorow, but at this point i don't have room for any new hatches. Maybe if I can get some time, I'll add a couple of new stations this week, but with work and all......IDK

5 month pic update. I only kept 4 from the original hatch, the rest I gave away or sold, but the difference at 5 months is astounding. looking back on the older pics in this thread, I can now realize just how slow these little guys are actually growing. They are all over 1" and really do look like true clowns now. I think I will be much more patient in the future knowing the reward for a few extra months of nurturing. Also including parent and offspring pics of my WC PNG percs. hope you all enjoy!!!!
