We can now announce the final pricing and also how the pre order discount will run.

The Mitras price for Canada and the USA will be lower than originally announced.

Pr Order pricing with 15% discount = $1,019.00

After Pre order expires (August 30th) MAP will be $1,199 (subject to change if exchange rate increases or customs costs are higher than expected.)

Pre orders will start on July 1st
Pre orders to acquire the discount will require payment in full
Why? Every single time we have done pre orders before even with deposits people drop out, we then get arguments about the deposit which causes our dealers a lot of stress and upset. So to avoid all this the 15% pre order discount will be in full.

There will be two waves of pre orders

1-31st July (first shipment wave provisionally scheduled to ship week 1 of September)
1-30th August (Second shipment wave to follow on after approx we estimate 4 weeks)

How to order - Please contact your LFS or one of our online stores

Anywhere you wish, I have not done a dealer announcement yet, but you can talk to you LFS and ask them to contact us

I was wondering if it is possible to order the LED’s with the narrow beam reflector at this point. And if so, is there an additional charge?
I am assuming that the price is for 60 LED's version not the 66 LED"s version, correct?

Thanks!

I have read that the mitras should not be housed in a canopy. My canopy is completely open on the back panel, would this cause a problem? I have also read that they will be producing a model that can be kept in a canopy. Do you know when that might be available and will it have any different features to it?

Providing their is good air ciculation then this should be a ok but of course we do not know you tank to give a definaitive answer, i think in these cases clients need to decide if its right for them.

The enclosure fixture is set for release this Autumn details will appear here as and when we get them.

Yes, if you have a canopy you are probably right. I am also quite sure that the funcationality will be pretty much as high.

I think key feature here would be as Michael stated making sure there is plenty of air circulation around the fixture and that there isn't a build up of heat. HEAT is the single biggest enemy of LED. As their temps increase their efficiency goes down as does their life-span.

If I had a canopy that was open backed, room on both sides and front for air movement, AND open topped (which my last canopy was) I would give one a try. Anything less and I wouldn't risk it. I ran a fixture that specifically said NOT for canopies in my last canopy for 4 years but like I said it allowed for front to back, side to side, and top ventilation.

It really depends on how big your canopy is. If it is tall and has lots of air around the fixtures the fans built into each unit will keep everything cool just fine. If heat is a huge issue in your canopy you can always drill 3 - 6 inch holes in the top at various spots and connect a few fans to blow OUT the hot air.

If you blow IN the cold air you risk the chance of blowing directly on the water surface causing your tank to cool. Which in turn can cause your heater to work over time. Over time heater equals high electric bill and the lifespan of the heater to be far less.

It's also a very good idea to have adequate air blowing OUT of your canopy to help reduce/eliminate moisture/humidity problems.

It's getting closer and closer for our Mitras Launch!!

Are you READY??? I know I am :)

Nothing as yet, eta is supposed to be end of the year but I know GHL are still playing catch up with the Mitras orders, the volume has been monumental!

You are best off asking on the GHL German forum for an accurate answer.
