Mitras won't connect to PC

I installed the software and connected my Mitras 6200 to my windows PC via the included USB cable. It says 'could not connect'
Am I missing something?

never mind. I clicked at a bunch of things and it finally installed the device driver. all set now.

can I install other people's project files? I do not have a Profilux controller unfortunately, just the lights.

update...the device driver didn't work. I downloaded one from aquariumcomputer.com but it is still not happy. there is another one on aquariumcomputer.com - do I need both?
I am running Vista.

ok here is where I am right now. I installed both drivers. Windows still is telling me I have no driver. I am giving up and await your advice.

ok I didn't give up. I powered everything down for a few minutes and now things are suddenly ok.
I feel like a fool.
