Is this even possible? I don't know if different species could produce offspring. Otherwise there may be some really wierd sheeppeople in the deep woods.

You cannot cross-breed fish of different families. It maybe possible to breed fish of the same family but highly unlikely. Remember that "genus" and "family" are human names that we put on these animals.
