he's been doing good the past couple days, very active and lively swimmer. My melegaris and her get along great.
Hasn't eaten much probably munchin on pods.
Tried Brine shrimp, Mysis and rods reef food.
he might of actually ate some NLS pellets today, couldn't tell if he ate them or spit them back out but atleast he's showing interest.

He is a she. Their color changes and their head changes when they become male. Just thought you would want to know.
I finally got my Kuiter's pair from D/D today. Here is a pic of the larger one with my potters.
He stayed up for a bit, but now both are in the sand. Now the waiting begins.

Sorry, I know I am a bit late. New to the site.
But I agree with others. You should be fine. I have kept 3 in a 57g and they never even looked at eachother. It was great. If you are worried about running low on copepods order them from REEF SCIENCE on ebay. I was recommened to them and I got 3 or 4 bags a few months ago, and dumped them in my fuge. Now my tank is crawling with pods. if I pick up andthing at least 10 scurry off.
I would still continue to feed them tho, don't jsut rely on copepods. My ornate its anthing frozen and pellets. My other leopards did to. (lost them in a move). I am looking to get a blue star and potters again.
IMHO the most important thing in keeping leopards is a tight lid. When spooked they jump. I am always getting my ornate out of my overflow.
Nice pic, just keep an eye on it and you should be fine.

day 5 and its still eating pellets, ate a lot more today. im gonna try some brine shrimp tomorrow to see if he'll eat them up. than move on to mysis and such.
and to the other poster... i never game up on feeding them. lol i've had my Melegaris since august and he's a fatty. He eats everything.. even nori lol
im probably gonna update this thread a few times with the progress.

I love the leopard family. In my old 30g long tank I had 3 regular leopards for about 6 months before I had a human heater malfunction and cooked my tank. They do great together.
Right now I currently have 1 decent sized potters wrasse female, and I bought anohter today thats just HUGE, she will be going in the tank tomorrow.
I foun d areally good lfs with greating pricing. They quarantine their fish and get them eating before they go in their for sale tanks. Both are eating mysis. I havent been able to get the bugger to eat flake yet, but I have yet to try brine or pellets.

welp its been a little under a month since i had it and sadly, i didnt secure my overflow where she managed to jump into the overflow.. get sucked into the durso and found her dead the next day.
Something strange that started happening with her was at night when the lights would turn off she would freak, swim all over almost like she was lost and even try jumping out of the tank... i do have covers so wasn't worried about it jumping out.. except i failed to cover the overflow.
what would cause it to freak out like that? it would eventually find its way to the sand than the next day be swimming around like nothing happened. no one was chasing it at night as everyone went to there rocks and there hiding spaces....
needless to say nothing can get in the over flow now.

That's sad. I had a few fish including a midas blenny, and some other fihs I cant remember. I found if I leave a light on in the room before I turn the fish tank light out they dont spaz out though.
I'm happy to say both my potters wrasses are still alive and doing well. Although the big girl sometimes get a little grumpy of the lil girl.

I've always thought leopards were fairly peaceful fish.
My bipartitus and ornatus were fine together, the latter being a lot larger of the two.
Recently however my bipartitus has decided that the similar sized Halechoeres Lappilius needs to find another tank to live in.
Its hounding it relentlessly.
Quite annoying as I cannot catch either out the 300g system

Welp i said a few posts back that i was gonna try a kuiters wrasse next but found that they are hard to come by. I was lucky to find a about 2 1/2" potters wrasse for 40$, traded some things in and only spent 15$. Great colors hopefully ill get a pic later today.
Over flow has a cover on it now along with i put some mesh over the durso drain that way nothing can get into the sump now.

thanks..lil update.
she's been eating spurlina brine shrimp..seems to love the stuff soooo im pretty happy about that.
