Mixing Wrasses

prop-frags

SPS Slave
I currently have a male Blue Star Leopard Wrasse and a mated pair of Flame Fairy Wrasses in a 300g reef tank. I would like to add a pair of Lineatus Wrasses, but want to make sure the wrasses will get along before I take the plunge.

I also have:
Desjardini Tang
Kohl Tang
Mated pair of Bellus Angels
Regal Angel
(3) Lyretails (1 turning male)
(2) false percs
(2) Borbonius Anthias
(3) Blue Green Chromis

Thanks for the replies guys!

I don't have a good full-tank shot... Long story short, Our first 300g tank failed (ruptured bottom seal) in September of last year. The tank was less than 6 mos old. We have had a temporary 350g tank running in our garage for 7 months while we waited for the replacement. We just got the replacement tank up and running this weekend, so I'll share a pic we took a couple of hours ago:

We still have some work to do and the corals are not in their permanent locations in the tank yet, but our fish are happy. :D

you wont have any problems with them especially being that the tank environment is still new for everybody in the tank so now would be the time to add any new additions

Our new boy arrived yesterday and is eating well. Thought I'd share a couple of pics I snapped this AM:

Very Nice Lineatus. Keep an eye on its mouth, look like it might have some slight damage on its mouth from shipping. I have seen one that mouth was damaged (Way worse than yours) in shipping and it eventually stopped eating and died.

Yes, that was the first thing I noticed when he arrived. He is eagerly eating mysis and blood worms, so I am hoping it will heal.

Thank you Bradleyj! I have seen pictures of some of your wrasses and they are beautiful!

It is good to know that DD had one. I will have to watch more diligently.

Took some pics of the adult wrasses tonight and thought I'd share:

Male Flame and Lineatus - not the best pic, but I thought it was cool to catch them together.

Female Flame Wrasse - she is almost as big as our male now, LOL!

And here are a couple of pics of our male Splendid Leopard Wrasse:

I couldn't get a good pic of the Splendid Leopard Wrasse girls tonight, so will try again later.

:D

Great looking fishes Mike. I really like your selection.

Out of curiosity are you enriching your mysis and bloodworms?

Thanks Klepto! We use a mix of Hikari frozen foods (jumbo mysis, mysis, mega marine algae, brine shrimp, and blood worms) and a small amount of cyclopeeze for the smaller fish. The foods are super clean and are either gut-loaded or enriched depending on the type. We also feed selcon soaked nori or fresh lettuces 3x a week.

We limited the food choices for our Lineatus while he was confined in the acclimation box to just the Hikari mysis and bloodworms. Now that he is "free", he eats everything (veggies included) along with the rest of our fish.

We also add pods to the refugium and dt on a regular basis to keep a decent population.

I'm no expert when it comes to wrasses. Is there anything else we should be supplementing in their diet?

The Girls

The Girls

I finally snapped a pic of the girls together:

Normally they graze the rocks and sand all day together until I pull out the camera, LOL! :fish1:
