MJ mod users in sps tanks

www.ostrows.us

Until recently I had two wiht the Octura 1435s mounted on seaswirls as in the videos on my website. Love them.

Recently sold one of the swirls, mounted the MJ mod stationary, and bought a wavebox.

My mods are virtually silent (hummed at first, now silent). One, for some reason the stopper got damaged. I suspect it was too low from the start and the noise was the prop grazing it, now it doesn't function. But 2 or 3 plugins gets it going in the right direction. May swap it for the Dumas but worried about sandstorm. Only tried it with both swirls going, but now that one is stationary I suspect one or the other will be able to handle the Dumas without disrupting things too much.

I got these

http://www.kjmagnetics.com/products.asp?cat=16

Part Number RX054E

and BE CAREFUL,I cannot stress this enough.. A friend of mine broke his finger with a set a little bigger than these just dorking around.., you will snap your finger and end up with a Nasty Bruise
They have about 54Lbs of torque on them. I bought 4 and it was like 20$ with shipping

They came with a plastic washer which i superglued to the one on the outside of the tank....

I just ordered $100 worth of magnets. Cant wait to get them and play. I probably bought too many, but I just couldnt stop. I wonder if you could get more power from a Maxijet if you slipped in a better magnet in there... Likely not, but, I'm gunna find out. :)

Does anyone have a link to the good MJ mods? I have a few laying around I wanted to work on and can't find the link now.

Thanks :)

I was about to order the Vortec pump, but I think I may try a couple of these before I invest $350 into that. I can get 2 MJs with the kits for $100. Are they really worth it? I'm really skeptical for some reason.

The Vortechs are cool, but being new have their problems. I'm sure you're skeptical because you expect to "get what you pay for", but with this MJStream mod, you're getting more.

I've only had mine running for a month or so now, but I love it. They are especially worth it id you already have the MaxiJets around.

Any idea of these things can handle being on a wavemaker?

Also, the kits for mjmods.com....are they overpriced for the materials, or worth it just because everything comes in one nice package.

Yes.

Theyre drastically overpriced, but its pretty much snap together. Tehy charge $10 for a shroud, which is basically just a 1.5" PVC coupler thats had some slits cut in it. That'll cost you $1, but if you dont have a table saw, you're out of luck.

Cool thanks. Yeah no table saw here, so I'll have to suck it up and order from them I guess.
