Covey - What did you use for the housing around the Propellor? In the thread they used PVC and cut slots in it so it could connect to the twist lock on the housing but it looks like yours is just wrapped around and ziptied! Looks much easier. What did you put on the end of it to keep the prop centered? Can you post a pic of it head on, so we can see the end?
The mod keeps evolving to the best of my knowledge this is the most current version of the MJ1200 mod.
The housing is:
1.5" test cap
1.5" coupling
1.5" pvc(real short piece just to put the other to together.)
A piece of plastic gutter guard from lowe's
and yes wire ties to hold the gutter guard on.
The slotted design from the first thread can't pass enough water for the Dumas 1.75" prop. You could careful make it really really ful of slots. At first I tired drilling a ton of holes. Still didn't pass enough water. Used the Dremel and I side cut bit and basically just cut the housing wide open. There is only 3 strips of PVC supporting the front half of the housing. I then added the gutter guard to keep the snail and fish out of it. The gutter guard passes more than enough water.
Keeping the prop centered. I cut a strip of PVC out of the left over pipe and drilled a hole in the center of that. I then assembled the pump and held the cross brace in place with my hand. Plugged it in and I had a little room to work with so I centered it until it ran nice a quite even dry. Then used the superglue to glue it in place.
