Modded HOB Fuge

I was given the idea of using a modded hob filter for my 28g bow. I looked at a few posts and have seen Aquaclears used. Would a HOB fuge and my skimmer be all I need for filtration?

Anyone selling one of these or recommend a certain size to buy?

I found a tutorial on an AC110/500 mod. If no one is selling something that will work for this, then I may buy one of these and mod it.
