Modern stand design! Help with selecting materials..

Quite a change from the modern look you started with!

Good luck!!

Yea I really wanted the clean lines ..and modern look with the sliding doors.. I didn't want anything to fancy because I wanted the tank to be the main focus. Then I thought what if the tank is hideous lol.

A beautiful stand does NOT help a hideous tank! Been there, done that! :eek1:

That's a serious amount of trim on that stand! (Not trying to dissaude you; if you plan everything out carefully in advance it's probably totally doable.) I am in the process of building my own stand (having received assistance along the way from none other than Mr. Woodnaquanut  ). My take away as a first time stand woodworker (phrase used loosely) is to try and think through everything in advance; I would even search for the materials that are available to you before entering the build phase.

i just buy kitchen cabinets and cut them so its just the face of the cabinet and a however many inches you want it to stick out thick, and top it with granite.... its easy and then you have a little shelf in front of the tank which comes in handy and granite is easy to clean

thanks everyone for the help, i built it as a demo stand/tank just temporary until i plan/setup my 150g,
