Mohawk palys

Like I said at the meeting, carefull with those. Mine started from a frag that was actually smaller than yours, now this is them :)

Keep in mind, I have fragged about 100 polyps, and threw many more away since last summer. As a matter of fact, I have just pulled the middle rock out of the display and put it into the sump to clean off all of the mohawks, or just get rid of the rock all together.

Mecold, I doubt I'll be needing more!

I'm hoping to frag them when they spread more, so I can trade for some blues, or trade some of my safecrackers for blues.

Thanks Gflat65

I have a couple of blues that may be ready to frag soon. That, and I know a store just down the road from you who should be getting several blue colonies this week :)

Hi,

sorry to be a party pooper but Im the farmer of that coral. They're originally labelled as the variable star zoanthids, like the astronomy thing. I have a link on nanoreef prove it too, but uh yeah they look nice. I'm glad you enjoy them. I just wish people would give more credit to sources instead of just renaming it and jacking the prices. sorry just my rant as this seems to happen a lot to the corals we sell

Glad to know where they originated :) Mine grow like a weed, and I promise I didn't pay near what the current asking prices for them. Could you post a pic of your mother colony, and a little bit of info on its origins.

Both the thread starter and myself got ours from the same person. Mine started from 10 polyps about a year ago to what you see in my pic. The funny thing with them is, if I frag a polyp three more take its place. Kinda a pita when they grow around acros :)

Thanks Mecold, I will be on the lookout for those for sure!!

I don't understand the jacking up of prices either, I would never ever charge someone that If I sold a frag and I dont like to sell anyway, I prefer to trade.

Hopefully mine grow fast as Mecold's so I can share the wealth. Shareing and trading is what makes this hobby feasable to us nonwealthy people lol.

Its really cool to hear about the origins of zoanthid. I would love to see a pic of the orginal colony as well.

discdogge,

If you are unsucessful, I have a huge colony of what bioreef had as blues you can have a frag of next month. Also, if the others I got in trade do well, I will get you a couple of those to.

As good as your nano looks, you new big tank is sure to be awsome!

mecold, if your talking about the pic I just posted, thats actually under 54w of PC lighting, one actinic bulb, one daylight, in my 12g aquapod.

Mine are under all 10k t5's. The only coral I have that looks even close to pictures on websites is my watermelon enchino. That thing looks awsome even with a flashlight! Which tank is your safecrackers in your avatar in?

That picture was actually bucked from Zoaid.com - looks highly photoshopped, but I have the same ones in my tank- they look pretty nice even under PC lighting, but esspecially glow under 14-15k halides and VHO actinic supplementation

you can find these at most fish store in the bay area. the photo above is photoshopped for sure.

Lol, you saying my picture is photoshopped? And you actually write "for sure". Well, your absolutely incorrect.

LOL.

Thanks mecold, I have been dieing for some blues!!
It takes me so long to get anything to trade b/c I buy tiny(nano) frags on my nano budget, LOL.

Thanks for the compliment on my tank, I think it's a really nice nano. I can't wait to start the big tank, especially after seeing Pat's in person, although...don't think we'll have that many fish lol!

We just bought our lighting and skimmer for the 180 and Niko is currently pondering on pumps.

Next week Im getting my 150w for the nano! I LOVE metal Halides!!!!!!!!!
