does anyone have any of faz's mollies

snooze you lose, and I lost to the frost

Im just wondering if anyone has any that are already acclimated to salt that they want to get rid of or if any of the stores have them already salty

otherwise I'll just get them at petsmart or something and acclimate them for the next 10-12 years

It doesn't really take that long to acclimate them. When I had some last year, I think I acclimated over a period of about 4-5 hours max. They did well and did not appear stressed at all (except for maybe the bright lights and high flow!)

Unfortunately, they only lasted about 6 months. Two disappeared, and one got sick so I fed it to the anemone.

I have acclimated them in less than 2 hours before. they are really very hardy little fish. Put them in a bucket and give them a good drip for a few hours and toss 'em in. They'll be fine. They will also likely drop babies almost right away if they are pregnant when you get them. The change seems to really stimulate them.

Stlouisguy dripped his for 3 hours and I dripped mine for about 2 and had very few casualties. In just a few days the big female popped out about a dozen babys.

I got mine in the Spring from Petco, I bought the lyretails and they were only a buck and a half. I had them pick out 2 males and 8 females and the boys seemed to have a lot of fun this summer.

well I went to Andy's to get the mollies and after about 20 minutes of no service I left and went to Petco

which was a real bummer because Andy's salt acclimated mollies were only 50 cents more than the FW ones at petco

oh well, win some lose some

Yeah, but you got to play with all the dogs and cats didn't you?

of course....he has a blue merle chihuahua that is awesome

and he had 2 huge tortoises that were humping the entire time

it was awesome, I got a camera phone pic

so since I have the IQ of a brick wall I will share the molly story

word to the wise: if you ever get the brilliant idea of adding mollies to your picasso trigger's tank to take care of some algae - think twice

one of the mollies made it for (literally) about 15 seconds before the trigger killed him with one bite and hold to the gut....while he was eating that one I was able to rescue the other one and put it in the safe tank

oh and if your trigger is eating a fish and you try to take it away to break up and feed some to the anemone - THINK TWICE

Ive been bitten by fish before but this thing nailed me in the arm and it scared the crap out of me, almost took down my canopy when I ripped my arm out of there

the first time my clown bit me it scared the crap out of me and it does not hurt too much. but i know how you feel. my wife thinks i am nut because i talk to them.

oh yeah, didn't think about that clown trigger either.....bet you missed the photo though didn't you?
