Molting

My manits has ( I think) molted quite a few times since we aquired him, but my question to you is this? What does he do with his skin once he molts? I've never seen his old skin like I do when the coral banded and cleaner shrimp molt.
So is he molting, or just holing himself up in his rock for no reason? everytime he seems bigger but like I said, I never see the skin......Does he eat it?

Most species eat most of the molt skin - all except the very hardest parts such as the dactyls. Odontodactylus will frequently bury the skin away from the burrow and then dig it up later when their mandibles are strong enough to eat it. Gonodactylids usually eat it before they unseal the cavity.
